Agenda 7:00pm - 7:45pm Weighted Workload Calculator 7:45pm - 8:30pm Calculator Workshop
In the ever-evolving landscape of school-based speech-language pathology (SLP), professionals often grapple with the challenges of managing workload and caseload effectively. This workshop, titled "Feeling the 'Weight'? An Examination of a New 'Weighted' Workload Calculator for School-Based SLPs," will introduce participants to a tool designed to examine service delivery needs in the educational setting. Attendees will explore the concept of a "weighted" workload calculator that takes into account various factors affecting SLPs, including student needs, therapy intensity, and administrative duties. Through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, participants will learn how to utilize this calculator to assess their individual workloads accurately and identify areas of concern. Join us to discover how this new tool can help you and your state organization advocate for your workload in our caseload-heavy field.
Learning Objectives:
-
Implement the Concept of Weighted Workload: Participants will be able to explain the significance of a weighted workload calculator and its role in assessing the unique demands of school-based speech-language pathology.
-
Utilize the Weighted Workload Calculator: Attendees will learn to effectively use the new weighted workload calculator to evaluate their individual workloads by considering factors such as student needs, therapy intensity, and administrative responsibilities.
-
