Valuable Publications The In Touch Newsletter contains valuable information such as legislative updates; continuing education and other workshops; convention previews and reminders; and professional updates, including current issues and practices on various topics. Foundation Level Memberships are also highlighted in this publication.
3. Networking Opportunities
- Online Membership Directory & Community- Provides a resource of colleagues throughout the state. Exchange of best practices and concerns with other professional and associate members, through onsite/virtual events and social media.
- Listserv & Forum Access- SCSHA maintains contact with its members through a listserv. Members can discuss professional issues and concerns with SCHSA Staff and members.
- Annual Events - Offers a state Convention and Fall Workshop with local and national speakers, job recruitment/interview opportunities, exhibit displays, and opportunities to meet with colleagues. You will get CEU credit for attending these events and member discounts for those members who attend.
4. Strong Advocacy
- SCSHA-Supported Legislative Representation- Represents our profession at both the state and federal levels.
- Representation at the state and local level - The association contracts with a lobbying firm to represent and voice concerns for SCSHA and our industry. Someone that is the voice of our association!
- SCSHA liaison with ASHA, South Carolina Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and the SC Board of Education- Maintains active contact with ASHA, the SC Board of Examiners and the SC Department of Education on issues of interest, trends and legislation, continuing education opportunities, CCC examination information, licensure, procedures in other states, etc.

- Scholarship Opportunities - SCSHA Foundation Student Scholarship & Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Memorial Scholarship
- Each year, the SCSHA Foundation accepts applications for the SCSHA Foundation Student Scholarship. This scholarship is open only to CURRENT student members of SCSHA.
- Each year, the SCSHA accepts applications for the Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is for a minority student and must be received no later than January 14, 2022. The scholarship recipient will be notified prior to the Annual Convention.
- Members-only website – SCSHA members have access to a members-only website and Membership E-News.

6. Leadership Development Program
- The program offers leadership training created to build self-awareness and knowledge of leadership skills, develop interpersonal and team-building skills, develop strong peer relationships along with an ongoing support network, apply acquired knowledge and skills in future professional and volunteer leadership roles, and develop a plan for volunteerism/service in SCSHA.
